Kate Preston is a character found in Highpool. She is voiced by Terri Doty.

Background

An attractive young woman in maintenance overalls, though thoroughly panicked at the moment. Sweat plasters her hair to her forehead and her hands shake with fear. Kate is the leader of the community at Highpool and a talented engineer maintaining the Dam. She is one of the two candidates for mayor, the other being Sean Bergin. Unlike the competition, she appreciates the Rangers and their work, leading to a bit of resentment fermenting between her and the rest of the town.

Details

• In order to save Highpool and keep it within the Ranger's area of influence, the player has to assist Kate in preventing the reservoir from overflowing and destroying itself and Highpool in the process. That way, she will also be voted in as mayor.
• She will also ask the Rangers to wipe out the Wrecking Crew, explaining that she's been trying to get the Ranger Citadel to act, to no avail.

• Talk to Kate Preston in the tunnels under Highpool: Reach Kate and ask her how the Rangers can help.
• Help Kate Preston fix Highpool's irrigation system: Aid Kate in fixing the reservoir's engineering problems. This quest guarantees her election as Mayor.
