Howdy pardner!

Hi Tag, I was wondering if you could do me a favour? Could you just give me a show of support on my talk page for getting adminship here so that I can change the skin to the full width/swanky banner one at the Vault? If you aren't an admin here, son't worry, but as you are the only person I have seen apart from Kris and Ausir, I thought that you might. How's the new house/country by-the-by? Wow, now I look like a dick... Ummm, Tagz, could I be an admin please? Then I can run my new skin by you and you can tell me what needs changing Φύλαξ [~μίλησε μου~] 21:43, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Now I look like more of a dick because you already did it (fp) Φύλαξ [~μίλησε μου~] 21:44, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
A dick has a (all be it English colloqial) head too ;) Anyway, enough of this talk, on to business; will you, O Mighty BC, look at my logo, banner, favicon and background to tell me if you are happy with them? Breakdown of each -
  • Logo - plain and simple '2' as can be found on all the adverts emblazoned over the 4 men on the old cover. I cut that from the picture into a perfect square, with even spaces around the sides of the 2. I then decided that we would want more of an old school, pixelated feel, whilst still aiming for the new audience the game might attract. Thus, I rounded the corners of the square instead of making it a circle.
  • Next, the banner - simply took a large image of the old box cover, and cut the WASTELAND text into thte right size whilst making sure it was even. I chose to leave the colours as they were rather than crisping them up due to the fact that it is direct from the case and because it will give a more rustic feel that goes well with the logo (you'll see)
  • favicon - A mushroom cloud of my own creation. Simply works well with the whole idea and fits with the site's new look better than the simply tacky looking, garish man.
  • Background - Texture from Megaton (I know, don't flip out because it's F03). I chose it because the rust colour will fit with the rest of the sites new look, but also because, again, it has the boxy, pixelated feel of the first game, whilst also being a 'modern' texture.

Ideas? :D Φύλαξ [~μίλησε μου~] 20:09, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Custom CSS

I think there's been some discussion between Kristoffer and Guardian regarding the skin already. Based on that and your request, I'd suggest to use The Vault's skin (fixed width, layout) and apply a "Wasteland" color scheme (similar to what you had on Wikia), banner and background.

Since I've also received another request regarding templates etc, I'll post a more detailed outline of what I'm offering to help you guys out with later in the day. I guess a small first step would be to fix the forum setup so things can be discussed more easily.

One thing though; could you give me sysop rights so I can edit the site CSS/JS? It's rather cumbersome doing skin- and template-related stuff without these. -- Porter21 (talk) 10:51, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Tag, I thought I ought to tell you that I will be taking a break from the Vault and here for some time, until mid-June to be precise, in order to pass my exams. I thought I should tell you, but if you need me, just drop me a message, I'll still chack daily :) Φύλαξ [~μίλησε μου~] 16:59, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Tag, I will too ;) Φύλαξ [~μίλησε μου~] 19:51, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Wasteland images

Hello.

Your uploaded animated images have wrong index number. All images from disk 2 should have numbers -20 to their current numbers. E.g. John Finster should have pic-2-36, but yours is pic-2-56. Please reupload images from disk 2 with proper names. Couer d hiver (talk) 14:29, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Additionally, images from disk 1 screwed too. Please refer to http://wasteland.wikispaces.com/Pics to proper images names. --Couer d hiver (talk) 14:31, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

The numbers are different because they are image IDs and not image indices. The IDs are the numbers which are used internally in Wasteland to reference the images. Unfortunately the IDs are not the same as the indices. There is a mapping table in the game which translates IDs to indices. Because a lot of content in my own wiki (which Tagaziel is currently merging into this wiki) are automatically generated from the game files it was much easier to work with the IDs instead of using the indices. That's why the image numbers are different. I can provide a new ZIP with all images named by their indices but then all the encounter boxes are referencing the wrong pics... Or I could provide the mapping table if you prefer to change indices to IDs or IDs to indices (EDIT: I just added the mapping tables for both disks in the http://wasteland.wikispaces.com/Pics article). -- Kayahr (talk) 07:11, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Armor/suits/clothes

Do we really need separate pages for lists of armor, radiation suits and clothing? I think one page for all armor and clothing is enough, like at The Vault for FO3 and FNV. Even with all of them on one page, it's still far less crowded than the list of weapons. VaultAusir (talk) 19:29, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Re: "Hello and my concerns"

Hello, Tagaziel! I only tried to delete duplicates, refresh old information and bring all articles to the same appearance and to their own namespace. I tagged articles as "incomplete" to make a small TODO list for myself. Aldo I didn't know, that there is "Move option" to move "pags to their new destinations".

Sorry, that you have to call off my work. Seems I have to stop my work on this article. Hope someone else shall do this better.

P.S.: there is some junk pages after my work. can you delete em, please? Also we got some duplicates after undo:

Wasteland 2 weapon modifications (updated) and Weapon modifications (original).

data from CLASSIC, Wasteland 2 attributes and Custom portrait was moved to Character Development (Wasteland 2). that's why they are obsolete articles.

Robinsons was dublicate of Robbinsons. there was no need to restore it.

Gippers and Move Silently seems some (pre)beta content (such as Upgraded radiation suit, Upgraded radiation suit (Tier 4)), [Sniper Rifle] etc. do we really need em after Release version became available?

current Status effects is just a copypaste from ranger field manual, which is available at WL2 Portal main page. currently it doesn't contain any game mechanics info (e.g. -1 INT, -2 CON, -1 AP etc.) and should be rewritten.

Undo20

after your second undo new dublicates has appeared: Desert Ranger Ranks (Wasteland_2) and Desert Ranger ranks (Wasteland_2), Mark of Tytan (wrong name) and Mark of Titan, Final Assesment {wrong name} and Final Assessment, Laser_pistol_(Wasteland_2) (old) and Laser_pistol, Laser carbine and Laser carbine (Wasteland 2) (old), Stuffed_minature_dog and Stuffed_minature_dog (wrong name), Sledgehammer and Sledgehammer (Wasteland 2) (obsolete), Tommy Gun and Tommy gun (obs.),

Upgraded radiation suit, Upgraded_radiation_suit, and Sniper rifle are old/unused content

also you've restored few (absolutely useless) articles Wasteland 2 ammunition and Wasteland 2 creatures which are just a list of parent's category content.
