Big Betty is a tier 4 machine gun in Wasteland 2.

Description[edit | edit source]

A machine gun customized by the Damontan mechanics Hopi and Magee. A worn but colorful picture of a pinup model decorates the side of the weapon.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

The weapon alerts enemies (generates noise) in a 36 unit radius.

Compared to the machine gun you'll most likely be using at the moment, BAR, the Big Betty does less damage per bullet and uses 7.62 ammo instead of the more common 5.56. What does it offer then that may justify its use? Its capacity to load 100 rounds of ammunition. With a hundred rounds loaded, the need to reload won't be bothering you for quite a while. If you're lucky (and conservative with your ammo) enough, it might even last till you find a better gun - M60 or Death Sifter.

In Director's Cut, its jam chance is reduced to 0%, its damage is increased considerably to 29-34, with an Armor Penetration of 5, and additionally gains a 3% chance to apply Concussion, making it one of the best weapons in its class.
