Courthouse is a location in Quartz. The Courthouse is the secondary base of the gang run by Ugly John. It's the gray building at Quail Trail in Quartz. You can also get there through a secret passage from the Stage Coach Inn.

Background[edit | edit source]

This building has been taken over by Ugly's gang. Conveniently, it houses the jail where he can keep prisoners.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

  • When you enter the Courthouse through the front entry then you are asked for the password. You may have found the password THANATOS somewhere but this one is no longer used. According to a note which can be found inside the Courthouse the new password is MUERTE. Using the wrong password (You have two tries) triggers more enemies in the Courthouse. So if you want some nice fights, use the wrong password. If you don't like fights you better use the right password or enter the Courthouse through the secret passage in the Stage Coach Inn.
  • You can climb up the vines and smash the glass in the atrium (Works even with the Strength attribute when you try hard enough) to get to the upper floors of the building unnoticed.
  • On the 2nd floor there is a door with a guard behind it. Use the Silent move skill to open the door silently. Then you can overpower the guard before he can sound the alarm. In that way Dan Citrine in the backroom will not be killed and you have a chance to rescue him.
  • The guard behind the door on the 1st floor is Louie. When you kill him you find a gold ID bracelet (In form of a Jewelry) on his wrist with the number 27 etched on the dulled surface. In the next room, where Dan Citrine is held captive you find and kill Huey and Dewey and retrieve the same bracelets but with the numbers 11 and 16. Louie, Huey and Dewey are triplets. Concatenate their numbers in the order you found them and you get 27-11-16 which is the safe-combination for a safe in Ugly's Hideout.
  • When you have managed to reach Dan Citrine before he is killed then give him a Canteen and he recovers quickly and tells you about some money he and his father has hidden right under the noses of the triplets. You also can hire Dan now.
  • In the Courtroom you find a notice at the bench which states that the password THANATOS is no longer used and the new password is MUERTE.
  • There are drawers in the bench of the Courtroom you can loot by opening them with the Perception skill.
  • In the southwest cell of the jail on the 3rd floor you find some graffiti on the wall which says "DARWIN = PROTEUS". Obviously a password to be used in Darwin.
  • Mayor Pedros is in the northeast cell of the jail on the 3rd floor. You can rescue him by hiring him.
  • The father of Dan Citrine is in the southeast cell of the jail on the 3rd floor. Go to the bed with Dan in your party and then he gives you the money ($1000) and leaves.

Dan Citrine[edit | edit source]

Dan Citrine is a recruitable NPC found in the Courthouse. When the adventurers arrive, Danny Boy is being interrogated by Huey & Dewey while Louie stands guard. To get Dan Citrine, you'll need to sneak up on Louie and knock him out. If you fight Louie, Huey and Dewie will hear the noise and kill poor Danny Boy.

Mayor Pedros[edit | edit source]

Mayor Pedros is another recruitable NPC found in the Courthouse. He'll be in a cell on the top floor. Really, he's a lot better than Dan Citrine, although if you have open slots in your party, you may want to bring Danny Boy along just to provide another warm body for Ugly's goons to shoot at...
