Bobby was a child living in Highpool.
Background[ | ]
Bobby was a teen living in Highpool. He can be found in the south-west corner of the settlement where you can speak with him to find out where Jackie is. His dog Rex got sick and Bobby hid him in a cave. The rangers put down his dog which caused him to become hostile and attack them. He was in turn shot and supposedly killed by them. Soon after the Rangers left Highpool to continue their adventures in the wasteland but the inhabitants would carry on the memories of that day, causing a general dislike of the Desert Rangers. However, Bobby didn't die, but rather survived, and grew up to become Robert Danforth.

The Rangers can talk to Bobby to get some information on Rex and the cave. If Rex is killed, the Rangers will have to face the wrath of Bobby.

Wasteland 2[ | ]
In Wasteland 2, players can dig up Bobby's "grave" and loot his BB Gun. This will however make the entire town of Highpool hostile.

No one embodies that more than Robert Danforth, leader of the Red Skorpion Militia. A lot of people wonder why the Rangers and the Militia can't just get along and work together. Danforth's story is the reason why.
Back when Danforth was just a kid named Bobby, he lived in Highpool with his dog Rex. When Rex went rabid, Bobby hid him in a cave. A passing Desert Ranger found Rex and shot him. This infuriated Bobby and he attacked the Rangers with a BB gun. Thinking he was armed with a real gun, they shot him in self-defense. They thought they had killed the boy, and although they owned up to it, they left Highpool in a state that it was a long time recovering from. But Bobby didn't die, nor did his hatred of the Rangers, who he felt didn't deserve to be law officers. So, as an alternative, the now grown-up Robert Danforth founded the Red Skorpion Militia and headquartered the group in the Rangers' old prison base. |
