The years have not been entirely kind to Fred. He's missing an ear and more than a few teeth, and one of his eyes is just a white orb. Other than that, though he seems in good shape - strong under his armor, and his hands don't shake. He lives in a town named Rodia with his wife Willa where together they run a possum farm.
He is an excellent shot with any handgun and comes with a high Barter skill.
If you take any work from Lt. Steven Dangler, Pete will quit your party
If the player's party contains Pistol Pete when it encounters Ulric Kell, Pete addresses him "Heya Cliff...". This implies Ulric is not his real name, just as Pete is not Pistol Pete's Real name. This could also be a veiled reference to the heavy metal band, Metallica, as the drummer of the band's name is Lars Ulrich, and their original bassist was named Cliff Burton. The band got it's start in the LA area in the early 1980's, providing the possibility of this being a reference.
Traits
When below 50% CON, Pistol Pete may skip his combat turn entirely, saying that he's unable to fight anymore.
